During autumn and winter, it may be difficult to keep up with regular maintenance, but to help with that we have a useful list below with regular tasks that will help keep everything up to date and running.
This may seem different to what you do in summer or spring, but it always changes depending on the season, but this wee list will be a big help!
Winter is slowly approaching; the days get colder and darker. So that your house is in good condition for the approaching season we hope you can find our below checklist useful!
Getting the outside prepared for a change of weather can be done by:
- Clearing, raking, or sweeping any leaves or dirt outside of the property such as gardens or a balcony and pathway.
- Cover or clear garden furniture, to protect your outside furniture. This would prevent any sort of damage and keep everything good for the summer.
- To protect your lovely garden or flowerpots, you could ensure this, by cutting the grass, also clearing all dead flowers and plants so they can be safe for the spring.
- Turn off outside water sources such as external tap.
- Gutter checks.
- Have a bit of fun and decorate for Halloween and Christmas.
Home checks inside
- Ensure your heating and boiler is working.
- Check your washing machine is working effectively and further have somewhere to dry clothing.
- Stop potential running water that is unnecessary as this will prevent burst and frozen pipes.
- Deep clean appliances, ovens, fridges, dishwashers etc.
- Window and blind cleaning, surprisingly blinds do need some TLC sometimes, cleaning your blinds helps clear germs and dust.
